He’s not like the other dads. He doesn’t tell you how much he loves you, kiss you on the forehead or give out random hugs. His priority is showing us how to survive in the world, teaching us to take responsibility on any task we take and putting all of our efforts into it. He taught us not to expect anything from anyone, you only set yourself up for disappointments.
My father can be a hard man. But he loves us. Whenever something happened, he was the first on the scene. When I went on a whim and started playing basketball, he was my coach. And when I started dating boys… well… as all conversations with your father, it’s awkward, but he told me that there will be times I will get hurt and during those times, stay strong, and never lose who I am in the process.
Although at times it was difficult to understand him, my dad has his own way of showing how he cared. And I wouldn’t have it any other way. Thank you, Dad. For loving me, for your never ending support and your constant guidance. I love you. Happy Father’s Day.
