VANESSA
My love for photography began long before I ever held a professional camera—rooted in childhood afternoons spent turning the pages of my family’s photo albums. I can still remember the wonder of seeing a younger version of my grandmother, and the joy of discovering my own childhood preserved through my mother’s lens. Those early moments taught me the true, lasting value of a photograph.
In 2012, I took a leap of faith—leaving my corporate career to follow my passion full time. From the very first wedding I captured, I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be, and I’ve never once looked back.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m a devoted wife to my high school sweetheart, Jorge, and a proud mom to our two children, Genevieve and Maverick. Whether we’re planning our next family adventure, spending time with loved ones, or dreaming up a new home project, my life is filled with the same joy, connection, and love I strive to capture for my clients.

Chase is my wedding day sidekick (and brother!), he's the guy who keeps things light, fun, and running smoothly. From rounding up family for portraits to fixing a flyaway veil or cracking a joke to ease nerves, he’s always one step ahead. His easygoing energy makes couples feel instantly comfortable, and his support behind the scenes means I can stay focused on capturing all the magic of your day.
When he’s not helping me on wedding days, Chase is all about fitness and encouraging others, exploring new corners of the world, and spending quality time with his family.

Jorge, who I've been dating since 2003 (married 2011), is my backbone and biggest supporter. From the very beginning, he’s been right there beside me, and sometimes we even team up as a husband-and-wife duo to capture wedding days together.
Since growing our family, Jorge has taken a small step back from weddings, but every now and then he still joins me on a wedding day, and couples love his outgoing personality. By day, Jorge is an aerospace engineer; by night and weekends, he’s often chasing after our little ones, tackling home projects, or enjoying a good beer by the fire pit.
Even though he’s not always behind the camera with me, his support is woven into every part of Vanessa Marie Photography.

Every great business has its “real bosses”, and for me, that’s Genevieve and Maverick. Sure, they may bring a little chaos (snack breaks and dance parties included), but they also bring endless inspiration and light into everything I do.
Becoming their mom has completely transformed my work. They remind me every day of how future generations will look back on these photographs — treasuring them as a piece of their family legacy.
Motherhood has shifted my perspective in the most beautiful ways. It’s a constant reminder that what I create isn’t just art — it’s laughter, love, and life preserved for the people who matter most.
