When Thomas first saw Hiromi, his first thought was, “She’s beautiful”. He didn’t understand why he was pulled to the brown-eyed Japanese beauty sitting across the bar but he needed to speak to her. After mustering up all his courage and usual charming self, he wasted no time introducing himself. Hiromi is a woman who knows what she wants, so when she noticed that Tom was interested in her, she decided to see just how much by playing a little game of cat and mouse. Tom quickly caught on and humored Hiromi. After a few hours of laughing and talking, they both felt as if a puzzle piece clicked into place. Who knew that the American Brazilian man was the person she was waiting for this entire time — it just took him a work trip to Japan to find the love of his life.
Tom’s time in Japan was coming to an end, and before returning to New York, he asked Hiromi out for their official first date. It was a late summer day in Tokyo, and a perfect time for a picnic at Mt. Fuji. The chemistry between the two was off the charts. There was no language barrier, their sense of humor was the same, and they were both open for adventures. It was while he was sitting on a blanket with their make shift picnic that Tom realized he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Hiromi, so he made it official that day, and later asked her to come to America with him.
Thomas and Hiromi are very good friends of ours. Since day one, we fell in love with her as instantly as Tom did. You can imagine how honored I was when they asked me to be their wedding photographer. To have known of their love story, it made documenting their wedding that much more special. I cried when Hiromi put on her dress. I cried when Tom saw her for the first time during their First Look. And I cried when she walked down the aisle to marry our dear friend of 12 years. Their wedding reflected so much of who they are together. And it was perfect.
Hiromi is a talented seamstress. She MADE her wedding dress. Yes, you read that correctly. She made her wedding dress specially for her. If you want a custom wedding dress, you now know who to contact. ;)
I can’t get over how beautiful her dress was! I just wish I knew her when I was getting married!
Hiromi’s Mama flew from Japan to watch her youngest daughter marry the man of her dreams.
Is he an excited Groom or what? Tom was so excited to see Hiromi in a few short seconds…
Ugh, these two… this is what love looks like.
Hiromi also designed and created her bridesmaids dresses. The girl is talented.
Happiest moment ever.
Hiromi’s friends and sister also flew from Japan to share this moment with her. How sweet?!
Oh, I know how to be photographer and guest. ;)
Don’t worry… This is usual for Jorge and Tom. I don’t even question it anymore.
Thank you Tom and Hiromi for inviting me to share your special day with me as both your guest and photographer. I love you two to the moon and back.
