I’m not going to lie. I’m not crazy about taking details shots at a wedding. I know that it’s needed to capture the hard work of the bride and the vendors, however I always catch myself getting frustrated from trying to capture the day’s essence. It’s a challenge, and it’s not just snap and go — there’s a system to it — getting the details as a whole, then breaking it apart in pieces.
When Nicole held a stylized shoot, it gave me the chance to practice on my detail shots. And although I have a lot to learn, I now understand that the littlest detail makes a huge difference; it allows you to tell a story.
